CLASSES OF MEMBERS

There shall be the following classes of members of the Society, namely:

 1. Ordinary members

1.1 Any person who is a registered practitioner within the Republic and registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa, provided that his professional practice is confined solely to the practice of clinical neurophysiology and related sub-specialities.

1.2 Ordinary members shall have full voting rights in the affairs of the Society.

Membership fee: R2000 / year or R200 / month

2. Affiliate members

2.1 Members of medical and allied health professions may become affiliate members of the Society.

2.2 Affiliate membership is designed to accommodate:

2.2.1 medical professionals;

2.2.2 allied health professionals;

2.2.3 Neurophysiologists or allied professionals who are not registered to practice in South Africa as such but wish to be associated with the Society.

2.3 Affiliate members shall not have any vote in the affairs of the Society.

Membership fee: R1000 / year or R100 / month

3. Student members

3.1 All students registered at a teaching institution in the Republic as a student in the speciality of Clinical Neurophysiology shall be eligible for student membership.

3.2 The terms and conditions of student membership, including those of fees, shall be decided upon from time to time by the Exco.

3.3 Student members shall not have any vote in the affairs of the Society.

Membership fee: R500 / year or R50 / month

4. Honorary members

4.1 Honorary members shall be drawn from the ranks of retired Neurophysiologists and/or as nominated by the Exco and ratified at an annual general meeting.

4.2 Honorary members shall have such privileges as may be conferred on them by the Exco but shall have none of the liabilities of ordinary members and shall have no vote in the affairs of the Society.
